Also, for the time being, you may want to install a program called "MacDrive" (Search thepiratebay/any torrent website). This is to be installed on your windows install, and this will let you read/write to your Mac drive (the external HDD) from windows.

Hey sorry - had a surprise outing last night :(

Should be able to help today. Just to start - put the disk in (along with having your External HDD plugged in) and load it up. When it comes up with the "Darwin Bootloader" It will say something like press a button to enter startup options (just read the message for which button) and then put in the flag '-v' (without quotes), then it should load a black screen with white text - if it loads through to the installer after about 5-10 mins, that's good!! Once in the installer, you'll see at the top a menu bar. Click on "Utilities" then "Disk Utility". Now, select your disk from the left hand side (External HDD) and click on the "Erase" Tab. Put the format to "HFS+ Extended Journaled" and click "Erase". This should take 10-20 seconds max. Now just quit that and close your PC down. I'll assist you from there
