Norton 2009 Trial Reset v2.9A is for:

>> NOTE: Disconnect internet during installation, and/or make sure to NOT let the
prog connect to internet (always block unwanted connections by using e.g. a
firewall). Reconnect to the internet when you are ready to update Norton 2009.
1. Delete and PURGE your Recycle Bin of all the known Trial Reset versions prior
to this version.
2. If your Norton has expired and is still installed, then do the following:
a) Start Norton 2009 Trial Reset to check if your Norton was blacklisted.
b) Uninstall Norton and restart the computer. Norton Removal Tool v2009.0.5.26
is included if you want to use it also.
c) Run Norton 2009 Trial Reset and purge Norton.
d) Install Norton, and then turn Off 'Norton Product Tamper Protection'.
*) Note: Dont forget to hide Norton 2009 Trial Reset (USB flash drive works)
before installing NOrton)
3. Run LiveUpdate until there are no more updates. (Restart the computer if required.)
4. Do a Comprehensive/Full System Scan with Norton (remove all files and folders in
the "Scan Exclusions" and "Signature Exclusions") and restart the computer.
5. a) If your Norton has expired then REPEAT Step 1-4.
b) If your Norton has not expired then Uninstall Norton, restart your computer,
and install the latest trial version of the Norton again.
6. Install Norton 2009 Trial Reset and follow the instructions. If necessary install
the Trial Reset in Safe Mode (press F8 during start up).
7. After a pc reboot it may happen that Norton is showing "red", but in a few seconds
it should turn green and work normally.
>> NOTE: You can add the IP addresses of the Symantec activation server to your
HOSTS file (open with notepad) --> C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC):

it and blacklist your computer in the future. (Examples: delete the installer,
